RED HOUSE Shop & Cafe
‘ at RED HOUSE, our philosophy is simple: we love to serve delicious conscious food of the highest quality to make you happy!’

it’s always exciting to find a new coffee shop opening in your local area – and Red House turns out to be mine.
Red House opened its doors yesterday, and I am extremely happy it has.
Red House is the North Adelaide Railway Station, so it comes with a long standing history and a great shaped building. seeing as Adelaide is basically too freezing to function in the mornings, it was so pleasing to have a table right in front of the fireplace. i sat there just looking at all the different things they have hanging on the walls : old black and white portraits, original pieces from the station, 1950s wall art and many more eclectic pieces.
their menu is varied, and serve breakfast and lunch until 3pm. all day breakfast – on to a winner.
i have taken a couple of months off from drinking coffee, but now I’m jumping back on the bandwagon with only a half shot (to keep the anxiety and upset stomach away) so on that note:
a half shot coconut latte for me $4-
a double flat white for Nathan $3.80-
‘Dutch Baby’ Pancake – oven baked pancake served with ricotta cream and orange maple syrup- to share $14.50
coffees were good, especially if you’re a coconut milk fan like i am.
let’s take a moment to discuss the ‘Dutch Baby’ Pancake.
now, this pancake is probably the most delicious and satisfying winter breakfast we have had all year.
we didn’t even speak to each other while we ate it because it was just too good to not have it constantly in your mouth. the mixture of the cold ricotta on the orange and orange syrup on top of the hot pancake was just something else! you could tell it was made with love. you’ll need to give yourself a good half hour waiting for it to come out, so use that time to have a look through their vintage shop which is connected through a hallway.
i couldn’t walk out empty handed, i mean, i had to buy for the purpose of the blog! i ended up buying the most gorgeous two piece set which i am surprised i could fit into after eating the pancake.
so, i left the Red House with a full stomach and full shopping bag which made me one very happy girl. i will certainly be telling all my friends in the local area to give them a visit.
