Mockingbird Lounge
Mockingbird Lounge is a second-hand book shop and café.
Mockingbird Lounge is such a hidden treasure! my friend Leesa had heard of it and thought it would be a good place for the blog. so far, this is probably my favourite café. it is an old home which has been turned into an adorable second hand book shop, with the added pleasure of ordering a sweet and a drink to accompany you and your book. there is even a collection of board games which you can play (many which I hadn’t seen since my childhood- anyone up for a game of Neighbours?). there is an outdoor seating area, as well as a room out back that you can use for a group event – or a gossip mothers meeting which we delightfully listened into.
Mockingbird Lounge has all local homemade goodies from which you can choose to delight your tasebuds with. L settled with a white choc chip raspberry muffin $4.50 and a skinny latte mug $5. for myself was an apple slice $4 and a soy cappuccino $4 with an added .50c for soy. L and I felt like we had been fed by our grandmothers, that’s how lovely the sweets were. coffees were nice too- not top quality barista or anything but still pleasant.
if you want to go somewhere that appreciates literature, has plenty of places for a conversation, and has games for if you have nothing left to say to someone you’re with then this is certainly the place for you. for sure I will be there again, it was just so delightful.
