The Annex Café is a cute little place run by a mother & son team. there is seating both inside and outside; mix-matched wooden tables each with a single carnation adorn the café. art pieces, craft, local cds and business cards are strewn throughout the café and it all works really well.
The Annex Café has juices, specialty chocolate drinks, tea, coffee and smoothies. their prices are similar to other cafes in Glenelg, yet it is cheaper than places closer to the foreshore. today was a regular cappuccino $3.60- with added $.70 for soy- it was very pleasant. i’m on a desperate job hunt atm, so my treat to myself was a sea salt caramel slice $4.50 gluten free. actually, all of their sweets are gluten free and they also have a wide variety of vegan options too. the slice was delicious and could easily be shared between two mouths as it is extremely sweet.
i will definitely visit The Annex Café again, if you’re in Glenelg and want to get away from the main street then here is your place to be.
