Moons Espresso Bar
Moons Espresso Bar is not in Adelaide, but is in Lorne Victoria.
this week I’ve been lucky enough to have a short roadie, spending four days in Lorne. a mate who works at Moons caught wind of my blog and has asked me to critique his coffee. so Ash and Moons crew, blog #8 is dedicated to you.
Moons is a corner street café on the main road of Lorne. even if I didn’t know Ash worked there, it is totally the kind of get up I would have chosen to visit back at home.
Moons is filled with the most friendly bunch of people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. everyone who works there is genuinely interested in you and how your day is, where you are from and how long you’re going to be hanging around. actually, this isn’t just for Moons, but for other Lorne locals I have been lucky enough to get to know. just for their customer service alone, I have continued going to Moons and would recommend anyone passing through to visit, their day will be made so much better because of the positive people and kindness they pass into your day.
so basically, Moons is over the road from the beach/park. you can sit inside or outside on wooden pews, either choice gives you the beautiful Lorne view to rest your eyes upon. it is a very small space, but they utilise what space they have really well- you don’t feel cramped up when seated inside. the vibe is relaxed, the smells are great, and you feel revitalised just from being there.
today was a mug soy cappuccino, $4- with $.50 for soy, and a latte for N. breakfast is 7:30am – midday, winning! we had the Big Breakfast ‘poached free range eggs on sourdough toast w bacon, fresh medley tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms & avacado’ $21-. unfortunately they had run out of mushrooms, much to N’s despair, so a double up on spinach it was. on the breakfast menu you won’t be paying anything over $19.50.
breakfast was so great, the produce tasted incredibly fresh and worth $21. N thoroughly enjoyed his latte, so much so that he ordered another – well done to you Ash. now for me, I think that anyone who can actually do a good pattern in my soy coffee deserves a mention because so many times I order one and it doesn’t look heaps great. this one was beautiful and the taste was pretty good too. -sidenote- they make a mean soy chai late, it has been my favourite drink so far here at Moons. oh yeah, and if you’re wanting a serious health kick, ask them to make you the green smoothie; so delicious.
