By blackbird is on King William Road and is pretty difficult to see driving by- don’t give up if you miss it the first time.
By blackbird is an industrial space with concrete floor and walls, but has used dark wooden furniture to give you welcoming vibes as you make your way to the counter. the tables and chairs are unlike any I have seen in a café before; they are copies of those which would have been in medieval castles. not even kidding and I think it really looks amazing in the concrete block that is By blackbird.
there is one guy working behind the counter, and my gawd can he make a coffee! i must admit that this is the second time I have had a coffee from By blackbird; the first time I thought it was delicious (and was a take-away) so I wanted to double check before I wrote about how great their coffee is. and it was, again, so so so good!
a cappuccino will cost you $3.50 + $1.00 for soy milk and a piccolo $3.50. so this cap was the best one I have had in my Adelaide adventures so far- this barrister doesn’t make it taste too much like coffee or too much like soy, he’s got the perfect taste combination down to a fine art. N said he would visit again just for how good his piccolo tasted. we bought a Parisian style chocolate almond croissant $4.70 to share. N doesn’t overly enjoy sweets yet he managed to scoff down his half in about 20 seconds. i savoured my half; it tasted extremely similar to pastries and croissants I have eaten in Paris. this croissant was divine, I could probably eat one every day and enjoy it just as much as the first time. délicieux!
By blackbird 100% put love in my mug and on my plate. visit them, I doubt you’ll be disappointed.
