LOVEON CAFE
‘Thinking CAFERTERIA think LOVEON’
i was asked by my physio to visit LOVEON and report back to her; so now it’s blog #3.
smoothies & muffins at LOVEON CAFE
my friend C and I walked in and automatically felt as though we had entered a hippy/retro community restaurant. this place is not for the conservative, by no means have they catered themselves for those kinds of people. LOVEON is filled with wooden tables with mix-matched retro chairs. the walls are covered with children’s drawings and with their coloured chalkboard menus.
at the counter were freshly baked muffins still in their cooking tins- my eyes were pleased. the menu did not appeal to either of us for a meal, so we opted for a drink to wash down those delightful looking muffins.
so we ordered two: a blueberry, lemon and yoghurt and a fig and chocolate. not only were my eyes pleased, my tastebuds were also beyond pleased. C said her mocha smoothie was the best kind of mocha drink she had ever had! my soy chai smoothie rocked, I was chuffed that I could hardly taste the soy milk. to share we ordered herb and garlic chips with pesto mayo sauce. i’m quite certain we could have fought off an army of vampires from the amount of garlic that accumulated in our mouths. unfortunately it was really unpleasant; I would recommend not having it.
(our smoothies were $5.90 each which I felt reasonable and the muffin $3.50. for the coffee drinkers you’re looking at $3.80 a cup)
LOVEON is family friendly with a kids drawing table and has a real sense of community. there is nothing over $13.90 on the menu- which is of a mixed global cuisine. their staff were super friendly, and kept filling our glasses with fruit infused water.
C and I were sipping our smoothies when an acoustic cover of Like A Virgin came on, it was so unexpected and funny, it added to the eclectic-ness of LOVEON.

- value $: expected prices to pay
- atmosphere: welcoming + friendly + relaxing
- visit again?: for a smoothie & muffin to go, yup.
