Butter Fingers
‘we take our food seriously, not ourselves.’
we are moving house this week which has proven to be the most annoying time of my life. my beloved Nathan and I were tired and starving and so a café with the name Butter Fingers sounded delicious (and naughty for my arteries) and the perfect solution to cheer up two grumpy people.
Butter Fingers is a cool looking joint with its mixture of wooden and steel interior. wooden crates adorn the pastry window as you step up to order, it’s pretty neat. you are given a tin with your table number on it so that you can pop your cutlery in there and proceed to plop yourself wherever you please. people watching (stalking/staring/wondering about their life) happens to be a favourite pastime of mine, so outside we went.
being the only patrons at the time, it wasn’t long for our drinks and meals to arrive.
for myself – one soy cappuccino and a bacon and egg sandwich on homemade bread with added tomato and cheese. can I just say that I have no idea what kind of bread it was but it was just about the most delicious kind of buttery/crumpet/crisp yet soft on the inside bread I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating! this delicious, completely unhealthy breakfast was fantastic for only $8-.
for N- one latte and the Biggy. he sat there, ate, loved it and frothed over the fact there was so much food for only $16. N is a latte man, and he loved this latte.
at the counter there is a sign voted #1 donut in Adelaide and I begged N for $3.50 to eat this thing that looked like it would probably give me diabetes in two bites because I LOVE DONUTS. i had to be part of this donut movement. can I just say that I’m not going to write about it..I’m only going to write that you should all just go there and have this donut with your coffee because it will change your life forever. don’t even worry about the war your stomach will have with you after you eat the bacon and egg sandwich and then the donut..this place is called Butter Fingers for a reason.

Hi Domenic, I’m flattered that you’ve read this. I’ve told so many people about coming to dine with you, and they have come back with raving reviews! I don’t normally choose to eat vegan when I go out BUT I would happily come and try a meal from you 🙂
