Dear Daisy
Tuesday 06.01 : i needed a café to go to for a friends birthday breakfast.
the first thing one needs to understand about Adelaide is that practically no cafés are open on a Tuesday.. being Summer you would think they discard this rule, but alas they do not.
dilemma – our go to café for the morning was closed, leading me to stumble across a café named Dear Daisy whilst looking online for a cool cafe. the name sounded cute so I was in.
Dear Daisy is a small corner street café, with a gentle mix of rustic and industrial interior. each table had a small jar of fresh daisies, which I thought was ever so cute. it was filled with bubbly customers which is always a relieving sight. oh yeah, did I mention they do ALL DAY BREAKFAST. i actually love breakfast, it’s my favourite meal of the day.
that day was a scorching 41 degrees Celsius, so I did opt out of love in my mug but I did have an iced soy mocha. and I am pleased to report it was the best I have ever tasted, like it was actually so delish.
the menu was filled with so many tasty treats. i chose The Fritters ‘fresh sweet corn fritters, free-range eggs, free range bacon and a dollop of tomato chutney’ $14. our food did take about 40 minutes to come out, but I was in great company so the wait didn’t seem as long.
sidenote: they do cater to gluten free peoples with stacks of homemade desserts available
overall
- taste: fresh + delicious
- serving size: big
- value $: extreme value, nothing over $16
- atmosphere: on point
- visit again: definitely
go have a peek, you won’t be disappointed
